About this activity
This very green route is divided between bucolic parks and historical sites. Start in the city center and head towards Ovalie, one of Montpellier's newest neighborhoods, surrounding the Yves-du-Manoir sports complex, built in 2003 for the 2007 Rugby World Cup. You'll take Rue du Mas du Jaume, which leads out of the neighborhood and runs alongside the vineyards of the Domaine du Rieucoulon, before joining Chemin du Bugarel, which winds through unspoiled nature. Then you'll cycle around Parc du Terral to reach the banks of the Mosson River. After a break in these idyllic meadows, you'll get back on your bike to admire the fountain at the Church of Laverune and visit the grounds of the magnificent ChĂąteau des ĂvĂȘques, a residence that notably hosted Catherine de Medici. Return to Montpellier via the new cycle paths, passing through the Paul-ValĂ©ry district.
