Doi Inthanon & Local Distillery Experience : Full Day: Royal Pagodas, Karen Village and Powerful Waterfall

Discover northern Thailand in a single day, from the highest peak of the country down to a Karen village and a traditional distillery. This private full-day tour takes you far beyond the usual Chiang Mai landmarks, with a personal English-speaking guide and a private vehicle for the entire journey. The day starts with hotel pickup at 7:30 AM. After a scenic two-hour drive through the mountains, you arrive at Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand's tallest summit at 2,565 meters. First stop: the Twin Royal Pagodas (Napamethinidon and Napaphonphumisiri), built to honor the King and Queen of Thailand on their 60th birthdays. They rise at 2,200 meters, surrounded by alpine gardens with panoramic views over the mountain range on clear days. Around lunchtime, you reach Mae Klang Luang, a Karen village perched at 1,300 meters in the middle of terraced rice fields. Lunch is served in a traditional bamboo house. You'll taste the local coffee, roasted on site and grown here as part of the Royal Project that replaced opium crops with shade-grown arabica in the 1980s. Herbal teas from valley plants, and seasonal fruits like avocado, persimmon or passion fruit round out the meal. Free time to wander the village, meet artisans, visit small handicraft shops and see the coffee plantations on the hillside. Early afternoon, stop at Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the most powerful falls in the park. The 80-meter drop sends a fine mist over the rocks below. Expect to get a little wet, that's part of what makes the place feel alive. Last stop before home: Craft Distillery Experience Visit to a working craft distillery in San Pa Tong rated 5 stars on Google Reviews, on the way back to Chiang Mai. The experience begins with a crafted welcome drink, followed by a farm-to-bottle tour: see how Thai agricultural ingredients are transformed through careful fermentation, copper pot distillation, resting and bottling into additive-free spirits. The visit ends with a guided tasting of their signature gin, rum and vodka expressions, served with tasting notes and mini cocktail pairings created to highlight aroma and balance. You'll also have time to pick up a bottle of your favourite before heading home. This option runs in a private tasting bar next to the distillery and is limited to 8 guests.
