About this activity
Discover Chiang Mai from a different perspective with a peaceful morning bicycle tour led by Bob Kieckhefer. The tour starts from The Clover Hotel and follows a scenic route toward Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, one of Chiang Mai’s most relaxing outdoor areas. The journey covers approximately 7.0 km from the hotel to the reservoir. The first 4.7 km follows a dedicated bicycle path, offering a smooth and enjoyable ride, before continuing along a quiet paved road with a few gentle hills. Upon arrival at Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, guests will cycle around the 3.7 km loop, surrounded by mountain views, countryside scenery, and a calm lakeside atmosphere. Along the way, there will be stops to visit the Buddha statues and the famous King Kong sculptures, offering great opportunities for photos and relaxation. On the return journey, the tour continues through the 700th Anniversary Sports Complex, a landmark built for the 1995 Southeast Asian Games. The complex includes several sporting venues such as a football stadium, swimming and diving facilities, tennis courts, and more. It also commemorates the 700th anniversary of Chiang Mai’s founding by King Mangrai, founder of the Lan Na Kingdom. This experience is ideal for guests who enjoy light exercise, outdoor scenery, local culture, and a relaxed way to explore Chiang Mai in the morning.
